What are the features of Smithey cookware?
Smithey Ironware Co. designs and manufactures heirloom quality cast iron and carbon steel cookware in Charleston, SC. The cookware is designed to last a lifetime and includes products like skillets, Dutch ovens, roasters, and a hand-forged wok. Smithey cookware is known for its exceptional heat retention and distribution due to the cast iron construction of their pans and pots. This allows for even heat distribution, ensuring that your food cooks evenly and thoroughly. This makes Smithey cookware perfect for searing, frying, baking, and more. The cookware also has thoughtful details such as a second carry handle with 3 holes which reduce weight, allow you to hang the skillet from a rack, and give your fingers and thumbs a place to grip when you're pouring. The pour spout is designed with precision and the angled wall is sharp enough for frying and serving as a sauce pot, and open enough for everyday use. Smithey Ironware is a backyard story. The founder, Isaac Morton, developed an expertise in restoring beautiful old cookware pieces, which he would then gift to friends and family. The idea of creating a cast iron cookware line that honored the classic style of vintage pieces, but also harnessed modern technology and processes, led to the birth of Smithey Ironware. The company guarantees the quality of every Smithey for life and intends for your Smithey to become a cherished possession. They are here to support you in your cooking journey. From the kitchen to the campfire, use it well.
